I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream, For Frozen Desserts!

Anecdote:

Frozen desserts have been a big part of my life due to being a picky eater and being allergic to many things. While everyone was eating peanut brittle, I was diving into a bowl of ice cream. At six years old, I discovered my adoration for frozen dessert. I saw a girl at the beach walking around with a strange brown and white swirled substance in a cup. “Mommy, what’s that?” I asked. She replied, “Ice cream, would you like some?” I said, “Yes please.” We walked down the boardwalk to the ice cream truck and my mom ordered vanilla ice cream in a small cup. I scarfed some down and said “Ouch! My head hurts!” She laughed and said “that means your brain is telling you to eat slower.” Ice cream led to frozen yogurt, frozen yogurt led to sherbet, and my love for frozen dessert grew and grew.

Classification:

The frozen dessert category contains different types. These include sorbets, ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbet. Due to the many forms, you also get more variety.

Cause and Effect:

Although frozen desserts are clearly the best desserts ever, there are some downsides. Like on a hot summer day when all you want is some frozen yogurt to cool you down. You go to Menchie's and order a big bowl of strawberry frozen yogurt, you step outside, get too excited and eat to fast and end up with a huge brain freeze. Because of the pain in your head you drop to the ground, bringing the frozen yogurt with you. Then, an ant army comes at you due to the feast you have clearly just served them. So next time when you get too excited about frozen yogurt, be careful of eating too fast.

Contrast:

Sherbet and sorbet are too types of frozen desserts that often get mixed up. While one contains  a lot of milk, one contains more fruit. One is heavier, one is lighter. One is creamier, one is a icier, yet has a smooth texture. One has more fat, one is more nutritious, and so on. Sherbet falls into the creamier, less nutritious, and heavier category. Due to the large content of milk fats, sherbet isn't as nutritious as sorbet. The fruity, lighter, and nutritious side is sorbet. Sorbet is more fruit based and the healthier choice of the two.

Definition:

The definition of frozen dessert is any various desserts by freezing. That puts many different desserts into that category although some aren't classified as such. For example snow cones, ice cream cake, gelato, and frozen custards are all classified as frozen desserts.

Division:

Ice Cream is mainly made up of stabilizers, milk, fats, sugar, milk proteins, and ice. Having the added fats are factors of ice cream that make it not as healthy. A healthier choice of frozen desserts would be sorbet because it is more fruit based and doesn't have any added fats, its more natural.
